Raising money for York Against Cancer to celebrate our founder Rachel Whittaker

Rachel touched so many lives in so many special ways, and has left behind a legacy of love and kindness. As she battled with cancer, she never stopped sharing her smile and positivity, always being a friend to everyone.

For many years, the Stamford Bridge Community Choir has done fundraising for York Against Cancer, without realising that one day Rachel would be on the receiving end of their support rather than giving to it. Other dear friends in the choir have also had their battles with cancer.

We would like to make a special fundraising effort to support York Against Cancer in Rachel’s memory. This will go to help fund the amazing work they do to help support those dealing with cancer, including their families. This might include providing a ‘memory tree’, a ‘quiet corner’ in the Leveson Centre where they are based, plus funding complimentary therapy.
